CS grads are bad at churning out regular business code, not because they’re all bad coders, but because it’ll bore them to tears eventually. If they are real CS guys, they’ll be happier in an R&D department than a product department.
And for regular coders it’s vice versa, they’re going to be unhappy in an environment where they spend more time proving something they know is a pile of crap doesn’t work than building things that work, so they’d hate R&D.
Then you get guys like me that are stuck somewhere in the middle, we’re just screwed no matter what.
